Joanna Vaughn Named Spartanburg One Teacher of the Year
O.P. Earle Elementary School teacher, Ms. Joanna Vaugh, was named as the 2020-2021 Spartanburg One Teacher of the Year during the September 14th Board of Trustees meeting held at Chapman High School. Ms. Vaughn is a product of Spartanburg One schools and has spent her entire 18-year teaching career in Spartanburg One.

"She provides a safe and nurturing environment for children to foster their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. She plans and designs learning experiences that allow children to explore, negotiate, and learn. What may look like play to the outside world, is a purposefully designed opportunity for learning through carefully chosen materials, stations, and interactions designed upon students’ interests," said Jenny Edwards, a colleague of Ms. Vaughn.

As the district's Teacher of the Year, Ms. Vaughn received $500 from Founders Federal Credit Union, a custom ring from Jostens-CCS, a commemorative glass bowl, a plaque, a technology gift, a gift card, and a door placard. Congratulations to Ms. Joanna Vaughn for this prestigious accomplishment!
